Christmas Picture

It's impossible to get a 9 month old to look at the camera and smile. This is the best we could get! Still a cute little picture though. I need to get some pictures of him in front of our tree. This one is grandma and grandpa's. Of course ours is surrounded by baby gates to keep out the baby, and the puppy (she can't be trusted these days!!) so it's not quite as pretty. I suppose I could move them out of the way for just a few pictures :)

Thanksgiving is the best for babies who are just starting to eat real food. Mashed potatoes, green beans, stuffing, gravy, sweet potatoes, and turkey...all perfect for little boys who love to eat, but only have 4 teeth! He was very excited to have all this food at his fingertips. Of course daddy lent a helping hand to make him look even messier! He didn't get that pea on his forehead all by himself. As I look at my son I am truly thankful for all the blessings God has seen fit to give me. I have an amazing husband that I love, and who loves me and our little boy more than I could've ever hoped for. A son who is just about the cutest thing I've ever seen. As well as friends and family who are too numerous to name. I am amazed when I stop to think about it, just how wonderful my life really is. God has been SO good to me and my prayer is that I can do enough for him to be even slightly worthy of all I've been given.

I am the worst first time mom ever when it comes to taking pictures of my son. Lucky for me my dad ALWAYS has his camera ready. Unlike me who forgets to bring it, lets the battery die and can't remember to buy a new one, and basically is ill prepared to document her son's first year of life. But with a dad like mine I will never run short on pictures of my boy, thankfully! The good thing is this isn't his first grandchild so any more kids I have in the future have a pretty good chance of being photographed too. That way none of them will ever be left with the "skinny" photo album thanks to grandpa. The slideshow shows just a few of the pictures he took the last time we stopped by for a visit. I love the one where he's holding the basketball and looking up in the air with a big smile on his face.

At Grandma and Grandpa's House

The kid moves too fast! This is his second favorite destination in the house. The first is of course the dog's water, but luckily mom and dad are faster than him, for now, and we can intervene before he even gets wet. (Much to his dismay of course!) Now to work on stopping him from getting into them at all. He's pretty independent already...this may take awhile.

Here it goes! I'm very new to this whole blogging thing and I've probably spent close to an hour just doing this much. How sad is that? Just thought I'd start by putting some pictures up of our little guy in the tub. He LOVES taking a bath and would sit and splash in there all day if the water didn't get cold. How can you not love that face??

Well, we will see how much time I can waste in a day playing around on here...
